For Strokes fans like myself eagerly awaiting the follow up to 2006′s First Impressions of Earth, a recent NME posting may be the glimmer of hope we’ve all been awaiting. According to bassist Nikolai Fraiture’s twitter:
“While the guys are in LA, I went to scout some studios in NYC with Ryan [Gentles - The Strokes manager] today for what looks like Jan recording!!! mood = f***ing excited.”
Meanwhile, frontman Julian Casablancas has given numerous hints that he is ready to record whenever the rest of the band is:
“We’re supposed to get back together in January but don’t hold me to that. We’ve been trying to do it for years. I’m always available and they know that but getting together is tough,”
Sounds like Nick, Fab, and Albert need to get off their asses and get with the program. First Impressions was released in January of 06, which is nearly four years in the rear-view mirror. Can’t…wait…much…longer….
