I’m gonna try something new to break up the dry spell this blog seems to be having recently. Don’t take the “of the day” part too literally as I’m not completely trusting that I will be able to get a new track on here every day, but I’ll do my damndest to get close.
The idea behind this new feature will be to post a new track from my vast and cultured music library (aha!), hopefully showcasing some new stuff that you might be into as well as some old tracks that may have flown under your radar. Let me know if you have any feedback. And as always, much love and thanks to you all
So without further ado, I’ll kick off SONG OF THE DAY with my favorite track from The Unicorns fantastic record Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’re Gone?
I’ve had the good fortune of rediscovering this record just prior to the holiday season. I remember this being one of the many albums that played as the soundtrack to my Sophomore year in High School. “Sea Ghost” was always a track I overlooked for some reason, but these types of things always seem to rear their little heads when rediscovery occurs. Honestly, it’s pretty disinteresting for the first two minutes with the exception of the ADD-Riddled flute intro until the 2:40 mark, where The Unicorns create one of those conspicuous musical moments that can’t be described through words, but only via headphones. Check it out.
