Last night me and my frenz hit up the Kevin Devine show. This was my second time seeing KD and it was just as good as expected. The guy tours relentlessly, but still manages to put on a good show every night, so props to him.
Along with Goddamn Band member Brian Bonz, Miniature Tigers were featured as the main supporting band. I’ve been a fan of their blend of quirky-pop goodness for a few months now, and this was my first chance to see them live after missing them in Provo a month or two ago. The guys from MT put on a great show, which featured the best songs off of their full-length debut Tell It To The Volcano as well as some newer tracks. The newer songs were just as instantly catchy as their current discography. Whenever the new album gets released, it could mean big things for these guys, so it was cool to get a chance to see them in such an intimate setting.
In between Miniature Tiger’s and Kevin Devine’s sets I finally got my hard-copy of Devine’s latest “Brother’s Blood” (got it signed like a nervous little school-girl). You can read my review here. Suffice to say, Mr. Devine did a wonderful job with this record and gave just as much effort at last nights show. Well done, Kevin.
