Got a chance to catch Fun. live at Kilby Court. The show sold out and Miniature Tiger’s van broke down resulting in Fun. being the only band on the bill for their first ever headlining show. However, the guys took it in stride, and I don’t think I was the only one in the venue blown away by the kind of response they received.
Kilby Court is a small intimate venue (more like a garage) which is why I was initially very surprised that Fun. had been booked there. I think the combination of such a large crowd, the apprehension of a 90 minute wait before the band finally took the stage, and a venue smaller than most people’s garage created an intimacy that I’ve seen at few shows before.
The band played all of Aim & Ignite as well as a new song entitled “Stitch Me Up” as well as “The First Single” from The Format’s catalogue. If last night’s show was an indication of anything, it was surely that fun. are going to be around for a long time. The band seemed truly appreciative and happy with where they were and what they were doing, and the feeling couldn’t be more mutual.

It wasn’t there first headlining show. Both Arizona shows on the Manchester tour were headlined by fun. Just saying.
Sounded like an awesome time. Wish i lived in Utah to see this. You say they played all of Aim and Ignite, that includes Barlights, huh? That makes me even more envious. I’ve never heard a live Barlights!
