The behemoth of a side project featuring Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine are back, a mere week after hittin the wires with details of their debut. Bad Books are streaming a new song entitled “Please Move” over here (although you’ll have to “Like” them on facebook to get at it). “Please Move” is definitely a step up over the short n’ sweet “You Wouldn’t Have To Ask” which you can find for your downloading pleasure below.

Watching this clip of Candy Claws perform “Warm Forest Floor” from their latest album has made me realize I haven’t posted anything about the said album yet. Hidden Lands is a much more subdued effort than their classic debut which made me fall in love with them. It’s hard to think of a band out there doing things similar when you hear their tropical blend of reverbed whispers and overlaying acoustics, it almost sounds like the band is literally playing to you from under the ocean. These guys are the definition of “summer music”

Here’s a slight performance from Little Joy giving a much needed rendition of “No One’s Better Sake”, one of my favorite tracks from their debut. Hopefully some new material will be comin down the pipeline. Until then, dream on.

Though MGMT’s sophomore release Congratulations was shelved along with the rest of the “disappointing albums that got less than a handful of complete listens” this year, it’s infectious title track has always come back to bite me its not only for it’s simplicity amongst a trainwreck of it’s cohorts. Here’s the video for the said track, enjoy.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Princess Dinosaur, and an unfortunate even longer time since we’ve heard a solid release featuring Gatsbys American Dream vocalist Nic Newsham, but if you head over to AP.Net right now, they got an exclusive stream of A Goldfish and His Friends, the new EP featuring Newsam and Nick Vromback of Dr. Manhattan. Tokyo Police Club was definitely one of the highlights of this years Outside Lands Festival and their second full-length Champ is a definite underrated underdog amongst the best records of the year. Here’s one of the more straight-forward and blatantly original music videos released this year for the track “Bambi”

Land of Talk are set to release their second album Cloak and Cipher this Tuesday, August 24th. In celebration, go ahead and preview “Quarry Hymns”, a slow-burning track that does well displaying the growth this band has experienced between this and their last full-length. Cloak and Cipher is decidedly better, make sure you check it out

I’ve been meaning to post about Villagers fantastic debut Becoming A Jackal for a while now and haven’t got the chance until now. For those unfamiliar, Villagers the solo moniker of Ireland-based singer/songwriter Conor J. O’Brien who has been making quite a splash in his home country and will be coming down to the states for a full-band tour with Givers and Ra Ra Riot. The album’s namesake and lead single is an addictive and true-hearted acoustic number, showcasing O’Brien’s undeniable abilities. atlanta’s dead confederate are set to release their new album this tuesday august 24th entitled sugar. hit up the lead single “run from the gun” and enjoy some evenly layered psych-rock. sometimes less is more.

here’s two new songs that fleet foxes frontman robin pecknold has been performing during his opening stint for joanna newsom. it’s unlikely you’ll find recordings of them of this quality so i’d recommend checking em out while you got the chance.
