Just how good is this album? Many would say it’s the best record Cursive has released, and I would have to ecstatically agree. Released in 2003, The Ugly Organ has withstood the test of time, never straying too far from the inclusion in my playlist(s). Featuring the last appearance by Celloist Gretta Cohn, The Ugly Organ displayed Cursive at the pinnacle of their career, showcasing a band simultaneously creating and perfecting a sound that still stands on its own. I still remember the first weeks of having my drivers license, blasting this album out of my Cabriolet’s vulnerable speakers to no end. The Ugly Organ is THE album that Tim Kasher and the rest of his Cursive band mates will be remembered for. What say you?
