this is the sort of news that warrants a caps-locked title. strokes fans across the world can now rejoice. i’m sure my friends and i weren’t the only ones playing along in their basements trying to emulate the perfection that is the strokes, waiting for news of new material, but honestly where the hell did this come from? julian casablancas has apparently recorded a solo album entitled phrazes for the young. it will be released via casablancas’ own label cult records. track titles include “River of Brake Lights,” “Glass” and “Ludlow St.” nothing has been made available yet but you can check out a little preview below
