add detroit five-piece outfit fireworks to the list of reasons why i got a huge case of pop-punk fever as of late. whether it has been four year strong, the wonder years, or these guys, i’ve just needed something to turn up and sing along to. fireworks 2009 full-length all i have to offer is my own confusion owes it’s influence to the likes of their aforementioned scene mates, balancing steady and passionate instrumentation with a nasaly swoon that is all to reminiscent of the highly influential work of current tour mates new found glory. suffice to say, the combination creates a formula that is brash, youthful and hopelessly addicting.
