i don’t think it’s necessary for me to go over how ridiculously awesome daytrotter is again, you know what’s good. i’d be lying if i said that i haven’t been spinning a shit load of why? recently, so this one comes at just the right time.

Last February one of my roommates recommended me WHY?’s “Alopecia”. I vaguely remember some message board ramblings as well as a heavy recommendation by Colour Revolt. For whatever reason, they just didn’t click with me up until a few weeks ago, and since they have, Alopecia has been getting some heavy spin time on my iTunes.

I haven’t delved too much into their latest, Eskimo Snow, but I figured it was time to get a post about them up on here, so check their new video for “These Hands /January Twentysomething”

Introducing : Themselves

This one goes out to my good friend Kelby, who has grown a recent obsession with Anticon Records, the label behind artists like Why? Tobacco (from Black Supermoth Rainbow) and Themselves. I recently stumbled on Themselves latest effort The Free Houdini which was released last month. Houdini is Themselves return from a six year hiatus, featuring a glutton of MC’s from across the country including Aesop Rock, Buck65, Busdriver, Slug, and Alias just to name a few. Featuring twenty tracks and clocking in at 54 minutes, Houdini is both deep and breif in stature but ultimately extremely entertaining. Throw on a pair of headphones, crank up the bass and enjoy this one. You can cop the disc over at Anticon for a mere 8 bucks.
