Everything isn’t always as it seems at the surface as the the video’s surprising ending reveals there’s more to her than meets…the eye. heh heh

In Neon Indian’s latest video for Era Extraña some solid face time with frontman Alan Palomo isn’t the only treat we get. The band also give us an in-depth look at all the knob turning that compromises the band’s sea of overdriven electronics. It’s actually a pretty interesting watch and one of the better executed live music videos I’ve seen recently.

After a handful of instrumental previews, Neon Indian has finally released the first full song from Era Extraña. It’s not the ultra-sweet stoned pop that we’ve come to know him by, instead Palomo opts for a more reserved attack, forcing a more dazed delivery. Neon Indian has confirmed his new album will be called Era Extraña. I don’t know spanish, but if google translate is correct, that means “It Was Strange”. The bizarre vibes are sure to be abound on Palomo’s second full-length which will see release September 13th via Mom + Pop

Above you can see a clip of a new song “Heart: Attack” which was actually debuted a few months ago.

grizzly bear’s chris taylor has been a busy body as of late, whether it’s creating noise under his solo moniker CANT, producing the new full-length for the morning benders, or turning the knobs for neon indian’s brand new single “sleep paralysist”. while taylor may have lent his name to the producing credits for neon indians first material of 2010, it’s still got the vintage electronic haze that has made this guy such a success. hit the download for proof.

Neon Indian Kick Off North American Tour

Neon Indian’s “Deadbeat Summer” was the perfect compliment to my “best of 1/3 of 09″ mix. Shrouded in mystery, the song was originally thought to be apart of the band’s debut EP. News from Neon Indian’s label states however, that Psychic Chasms will actually be a full-length. Featuring 12 tracks, the album is due out October 13th. You can peep at a new song that continues to follow the warm fuzzy confines of the bands warm psych-pop direction.
