I’ve taken a recent liking to the new wave of mathy emo revival that has seemed to been taking off over the past year or so. Brave Bird is just one of the band’s i’ve taken an interest to. “It’s My Pride That I Swallow” is a new demo featuring trembling, oft out of tune vocals accompanied by tight percussion and clean guitar plucked with a juxtaposing upbeat demeanor.

Recently signing to Count Your Lucky Stars the band will be in studio recording a proper full-length debut. For now, you can grab their first EP over at bandcamp.

Featuring twangly strummed guitar doused in reverb and a chorus that immediately that imprinted itself into the front of my brain “Two Wounded Birds” lead single “To Be Young” definitely wastes no time making a lasting impression.

The track is plucked from the bands forthcoming self-titled debut, out on June 24th in the states and June 4th in UK.

California Wives are currently in studio finishing up their Vagrant Records full-length debut. For now we have “Marianne”, a shoe-gazing nod to 80′s synth-pop revival which the band have made available for free download below.

Crybaby’s new single “When The Lights Go Out” is a slow rocking jam from Bristol native Danny Coughlan’s solo alias. Featuring wistfully plucked clean guitar layered ontop of woefully smooth vocals reminiscent of Morissey and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, the tune definitely delivers…and then some.

Fans of The Republic of Wolves are already familiar with Gregg DellaRocca, the man who handles partial guitar and vocal duties for the band.
