STREAM // New Fireworks “Arrows”

You can now stream the introductory track to Fireworks new album, Gospel. According to AP.Net “Arrows” “is a good representation of the progression in Fireworks’ sound”. If that’s true, than it looks like they’ll be abandoning the heavier punkish influences from their debut. Still looking forward to Gospel nonetheless. It drops May 24th. Pre-order here

Fireworks have a new album coming out May 24th, but they also just released an acoustic EP during the latter part of last year. They got together with AltPress to record this short video of “Five Years” off that EP, recorded in a Detroit public transportation system.

add detroit five-piece outfit fireworks to the list of reasons why i got a huge case of pop-punk fever as of late. whether it has been four year strong, the wonder years, or these guys, i’ve just needed something to turn up and sing along to. fireworks 2009 full-length all i have to offer is my own confusion owes it’s influence to the likes of their aforementioned scene mates, balancing steady and passionate instrumentation with a nasaly swoon that is all to reminiscent of the highly influential work of current tour mates new found glory. suffice to say, the combination creates a formula that is brash, youthful and hopelessly addicting.

Fireworks are another band that I’ve just recently gotten into after ignoring for a good part of the last year. If you like New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, or just are a fan of feel-good pop punk, these guys got you covered. check out their fresh video for “detroit”. after that, make sure you grab the track as it seems like the twats over at mtvu think the phrase “presidential threats” is in need of censoring, and to be honest, that’s the best part of the song.
