On the heels of my recently posted best records of the decade, i’ve spent quite some time compiling what are, in my opinion, the top 50 songs released from 2000 to the end of 2009.
as always, if you dig the song, support the artist!
the picture is of my brother getting punched in the face. i stole it from my good friend’s expansive collection of photography. his name is trevor christensen , do him a favor, hit him up and show him some love.

i think “the boy who blocked his own shot” and “archers” are the most worthy brand new songs for this list

Dude, the decade isn’t over yet

Holy fuck author, I seriously wonder if you and I were seperated at birth. You listed untitled 05 in your list – fucking brilliant choice. No brand new fans I know even give this song a smidgen of the credit it deserves; I think many people are turned away by the country-esque start, I know I certainly was when I first heard it. Untitled 05 is such an amazing song, and two of my other favorite brand new songs are okay, I believe you and limousine…. excellent list my friend. Keep up the good work!

I’d like to reaffirm everything Tom said. Truly.

Just stumbled upon your blog and I have to say that Right Ahead, Young Sailor was a brilliant choice. That whole album is amazing

I’m glad you concur Joe. One of my favorite songs of all time, actually. So simple, yet so effective.
